Will a 455 fit in a 80's B-Body GM (caprice, impala, Delta, lesabre, etc) without a substantial change?

I have been considering buying a 455 to put in my 1982 Oldsmobile Delta 88th It has stock 307 right now and need some more motivation. I know a Chevy 350 and various trans is easier to build, but I thought more ii line with a 455 w / turbo 400 trans. If it is passing, I should probably give it a moderate cam, intake, and possibly exhaust. I'm not looking for balls to the walls 4 00-60 second century, but something that is tough enough to spin the tires and sound crazy. Getting to the question ... What kind of changes would I do to beat again the 455 under the hood? I'm basically there to get the engine in the car, do not keep the rear end of it and what not. Would I have to hack the firewall? Weld in some kind of tricky engine mount bracketry? Someone told me that the 455 should bolt right up with various fasteners to share the external dimensions of blocks and has the same bolt pattern as 5.0 and 5.7 year olds. More or less, what does swap mean?

You should not need to change the trans-European mount If you already have a 307 Olds. Nothing is really "the bolt: the Rocket 455 is wider than the 260/307/350, but the bell housing is the same. So you are watching engine exhaust and all things from donor car - mounts and stuff. I put a 455 in a 1981 Cadillac that had a olds 350 diesel, the same exterior dimensions as 307 / 350 Gas, , and all I had to change where the exhaust pipe. Caddy is the same size as Delta. I would make the change with my 82 Delta 88 Diesel, how it works out cool. You will not have cooling issues if you can get a diesel Caddy 88 or in a scrap heap in order to rob from the radiator. If you do not go super crazy with 455, will contain trans behind 307 well. Good luck, you will not be disappointed!
